I have this desire to share my love of just about anything. If you’ve read any of my posts here, on FacebookTwitter; looked at my Etsy shop, or talked to me; you may have picked up on this fact. I have a serious love affair with stationary, pens, notebooks, binders, scrapbook supplies, and everything else that falls even remotely in these categories!

Early Years
From kindergarten (according to my mother – who am I to doubt her?) through graduate school, my favorite part of every year was buying new school supplies. Sure, the clothes were nice, but I LIVED for that new Trapper Keeper, fresh paper, crayons; whatever I could convince her I desperately needed. I’ve had favorite pens that no one was allowed to borrow as early as elementary school. I learned to carry “dummy” pens after losing pens or having them broken when I loaned them out. Can you believe others see them as “just pens”!? Neanderthals.

I loved the smell of new, unsharpened pencils. However I didn’t like USING them. Once you make one mark, they are no longer sharp and beautiful. Once I discovered mechanical pencils, I never looked back. I still appreciated traditional pencils enough to have a 350+ collection of them. You heard me! It was all the rage in junior high. We were super serious about it. We traded them, admired them, and kept our eyes out for unique ones. For years, I would ask friends that went on vacation to bring me a pencil from their travels. I kept this up LONG after everyone else had moved on. We think those are still packed away somewhere. There’s money in those as collectibles, right?

Through current years

In my early adult years, just after graduating from undergrad, I wanted to start a homemade cosmetics business. I felt then (and still do) that we can have many beauty products without all the chemicals. If I’m honest, though, I really just wanted another excuse to buy office supplies. I know. It’s a sickness, but it’s not something I wish to cure! I’ve discovered just how many people like me are out there. I want to share my appreciation for these things with you! I want to find new things to show you, hear about nifty items from you, etc.

I hope to use this blog to revel in my illness and bring you along with me!
